Disabled adults, and me, their activities director I graduated high school in 1983, and went on to attend Eastern Illinois University, where in five semesters I managed to flunk out. I landed a job working with developmentally disabled adults. This population gave me my first chance to work with people, which I liked. |
Replacements concert I moved with some friends to Chicago in 1988. Chicago gave me more opportunities to work with children as a volunteer. At Children's Memorial Hospital, I was an infant care volunteer for three years. I was president of the Associated Board at Merit School of Music, an urban-based music conservatory serving socioeconomically disadvantaged youth. |
